Food Resources
- United Way's Hall County Compass Center: The Compass Center is Hall County's Community Resource HUB. If you're not sure what resources are available in your area; then start HERE. They will connect families to resources to food, counseling, shelters, etc. They are also currently helping qualifying families cover rent and utility bills. Don't hesitate to call! Their facilities are not currently open to the public, but they can be contacted via phone Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at (770) 536-1121.
- Expensify.org: Expensify.org will reimburse families for SNAP benefits for groceries and additional goods up to $50. See requirements steps to reimbursement here: www.expensify.org/hunger#reimbursement
- Food Finder App: The Food Finder app is a fast way for families to locate food pantries and food assistance programs in their area. Visit foodfinder.us , or download the app.
- Straight Street Ministries: The Straight Street Ministries warehouse is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The address is 2145 Centennial Drive, Gainesville 30504. If a family cannot get to the warehouse, they can call (678) 989-0255 to make alternative arrangements.
- South Hall Food Pantry: Monday afternoons 4-6:00 pm and Thursday and Saturday mornings 10am -noon. (678) 865-6588 (Call to confirm opened)
- Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on South Enota Food Pantry: Open on Mondays from 1:30 to 3:00 pm and Thursdays 10:00 to 11:30 am. An appointment is requested at (770)532-2428.
- Grace Episcopal Church: Food Pantry by appt only starting Friday, April 17th. Call (678) 696-1235 for further instructions.
Utilities and Bill Payment Support
- AT&T: AT&T is suspending the termination of services for customers who can't pay their bills due to Coronavirus related issues. The company also stated that its consumer home internet customers will receive unlimited data.
- Verizon: Verizon is waving late fees and suspending service termination for customers who are "negatively impacted by the global crisis."
- T-Mobile: T-mobile is providing unlimited data to all current customers who have plans with data for the next 60 days. It will also provide additional data to mobile hotspot users.
